About Nemus

What it is, who it's for and what it includes.

Nemus is a platform created by Fundación Cesefor that brings timber supply management together in one place: traceability, forest georeferencing, batch management, transport and compliance with the EUDR Regulation. It replaces paper, scattered spreadsheets and handwritten delivery notes with a single system where the whole chain is recorded.

For the three profiles involved in the timber chain:

  • Industry: supply control, harvest analysis and traceability of the raw material entering the factory.
  • Buyers: from the purchase of the batch to arrival at the factory, with operation planning, work centres and tonnage tracking.
  • Carriers: digital transport documentation from the forest with the Trucker app.

Dashboard, the control panel with the status of your batches, tonnage and EUDR codes. Geo, for mapping and georeferencing of forests and plots. Trucker, the mobile app for digital transport documentation. Mercado, with public auctions and market analysis. MontarApp, for digital forest management and coordination of works.

Each module is activated separately: you only pay for the ones you need.

No. Dashboard, Geo and Mercado run from the browser, with no installation or servers of your own. The only thing that gets installed is the Trucker app, on the driver's phone, available on Google Play and the App Store.

Not necessarily. Nemus is designed to work alongside your current systems and exchange information with them. The idea isn't to change everything, but for Nemus to cover what you currently do on paper or by hand and connect with the rest.

Nemus operates in Spain, Portugal and France. The website is available in Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, English, French and Portuguese.

The EUDR in Spain

Timeline, obligations and competent authority.

The EUDR is Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products. It repeals the EUTR (EU Timber Regulation). The core difference: the EUTR required demonstrating the legality of the timber; the EUDR also requires demonstrating that it does not come from land deforested after 31 December 2020 and providing the geolocation of the harvesting plots.

Following the amendment introduced by Regulation (EU) 2025/2650:

  • 30 December 2026 for medium and large operators and traders.
  • 30 June 2027 for micro and small enterprises.

The EUTR is repealed on 30 December 2026, although it will keep applying transitionally to timber products produced before 29 June 2023.

At national level, the Directorate-General for Biodiversity, Forests and Desertification of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO). At regional level, each autonomous community has designated its own authority.

The draft bill implementing the EUDR also provides for the creation of an Office to Combat Trade-Related Deforestation, which would act as the state competent authority.

The operator places the product on the Union market for the first time, or exports it. They are the one who gathers the information, georeferences the plots, assesses the risk and submits the due diligence statement.

The trader acts further downstream: they must verify that due diligence was carried out beforehand, keep their supplier's reference number and reference it in their own statement.

Classifying yourself as a trader when you are actually the first placer leaves the whole chain without a statement. It's the costliest classification mistake.

Both. The EUDR doesn't distinguish by origin: timber harvested in Spain, processed in Spain and sold in Spain falls within the scope of the regulation from its first placing on the market. Spanish timber that is exported must also comply with it.

It simplifies the procedure, it doesn't remove it. When all raw materials come from countries classified as low risk, the operator can use the simplified procedure: gathering information and geolocation are still mandatory, but risk assessment and mitigation aren't required in the same terms.

To use it you need to assess the complexity of the chain, the risk of circumvention and the risk of mixing with product of unknown origin. If that can't be assured, the simplified procedure doesn't apply.

Trucker and forest work

The driver's mobile app.

Yes, it collects data offline and, once there's coverage again, Trucker sends it to the Nemus platform.

Trucker was designed to work in the forest, with few screens and minimal steps. On top of that, your carriers will get personalised training.

It works just as well for a sole trader as for a whole fleet of trucks.

It's the digital equivalent of the paper delivery note. It includes the product, the pickup point, the delivery point, the timber's owner and a verifiable QR code. It's generated from the driver's phone and reaches the customer with no paper in between. Trucker was a pioneer in the sector in creating this standard.

At the pickup point the driver photographs the load in the forest and coordinates are generated. At the delivery point they photograph the full truck at the factory again and coordinates are generated once more. All that information is stored in Nemus, and the industry uses it to check traceability from origin to destination.

Yes. The Dashboard shows truckers in transit, your own and third-party destinations, and open incidents. The map shows transports in transit that have geolocated photographs.

Trucker is available for Android on Google Play and for iPhone on the App Store. It works on ordinary phones, no special device is needed.

Rollout and integration

Getting started, integration and support.

We study your case and adapt Nemus to your management software. Integration is guaranteed.

With Nemus you can be independent from day one. Even so, we support you through the rollout to make getting started easier for you.

A team with names and faces. Alejandro Tello and Alexander Belarroa handle rollout, training and ongoing support. Behind them, the development team maintains the platform and builds solutions when your operation raises a specific need.

Yes. Part of the development team's work is precisely solving specific customer needs that the standard platform doesn't cover. Tell us about it and we'll look into it.

Yes. You can request a demo from the website and see the platform working with real cases, with no commitment.

Data and security

Where your data is and how it's protected.

The data complies with European regulations and no data is accessible from the internet: it can only be accessed from Cesefor's network. Encrypted automatic backups are made constantly on Azure servers.

All information lives in a PostgreSQL database managed on Microsoft Azure (Flexible Server), hosted in European Union data centres. The database is not exposed to the internet: it's only accessible through a Private Endpoint inside the platform's private network.

No. Each organisation only accesses its own batches, forests, transports and documentation. Access is configured per user and per profile during rollout.

The information remains yours and you can retrieve it. EUDR documentation must be kept for the periods set by the regulation, so this point is defined in the contract before you start.
